Been a while...

Okay, so it's been a long time since I posted anything. Well, I apologize to those of you, Meghan and Shawn, who have been disappointed in me. Let me just say that I did try to post something right after I finished the wedding album, but there was something wrong with the server and it wouldn't let it go through. So, I finished the wedding album with a week and a half left before my anniversary. Everyone I have showed it to thinks I did a beautiful job. I am very happy with the results.

Shawn and I had a lovely anniversary. Shawn took the day off of work and when I got home, he had set up the table with candles and flowers, and what was a very elegant table setting. We enjoyed the same dinner we had the night of our wedding, which consisted of Pizza Rolls and tater-tots. For those of you who don't know, Shawn and I did not eat very much at our reception, so when we got home we ate what was available. The lady who made our wedding cake for us, made us a lovely anniversary cake, no charge. It was part of the original arrangement. Everything was very nice. For gifts, I gave him the original Star Wars trilogy on DVD. He gave me a lovely pair of earrings that were designed to match my engagement ring. Well, actually I had to wait over a month to get the earrings, but that was because the jeweler made a big foul-up of the whole thing and we had to wait until it was fixed. But they turned out great and I love my hubby for the effort.

Shawn and I started bowling with a league every other Saturday with our friend Jim. We're not very good, but we have a good time. Jim's partner is a verry unpleasant person the league set him up with. We're hoping she will decide to quit so that we can replace her. We have all tried to be nice to her and include her in the conversation, but she just doesn't seem interested.

On October 9, Mom, Christina, Candi, Pascoe, and I participated in the Race for The Cure event in Cleveland. We got to the Rock Hall at about 7:45 AM and watched the beginning of the Run. We walked the the pier and picked up a bunch of freebies from the various companies who came to support the cause. Mom got the cutest pink ribbon rubber ducky. The mile walk was very nice, and the ceremony at the end was beautiful. All together it was a great day. I look forward to doing it again next year.

Several birthdays occured over the last couple of months. Christina turned 26 on September 15, Shawn turned 31 on October 21, and Dad's birthday was October 22 (once you are past the age of 50, the years don't matter anymore). Everyone loved their gifts and their respective celebrations.

Thanksgiving was lovely this year. The usual group came to dinner at Mom & Dad's. Pa came from Massachusetts for his annual visit. He is doing very well, although he really shouldn't be driving anymore. Grandma came and brought wine and Ambrosia (that fruity marshmellow dish). the other guests were Uncle Nelson, Aunt Carol, Nelson Jr., and Lori and Uncle Frank, Aunt Chris, Angela, and David. Christina brought Joe who brought the best deviled eggs ever and mac&cheese. In addition to the usual pies, Christina & Dad made cannolis using Aunt Lou's recipe (which she finally gave to Christina at Grandma's 80th birthday party). They turned out great! We played Trivial Pursuit 90s edition after dinner. Let me tell you, it was the most energetic game ever played. There were two teams, Shawn, Christina, Joe, and I against the rest of the group. It seemed fair at the time, but then Dad stopped watching football and gave them the lead. They won on a very easy question. We're not sure we like this version.

I have seen several movies lately. Here is the run-down. The Incredibles was great, very funny and great for kids. National Treasure was fantastic, a great action/adventure movie with a good soundtrack. Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason was hilarious, not as good as the first one, but alot of fun. DO NOT GO SEE ALEXANDER. The worst movie in the last ten years. I went with Shawn and Jim. I wish I could have fallen asleep so I could have missed the whole thing. I was praying for him to die so that the movie would end. Horrible!!!

Congratulations Meghan and Brian on the birth of your son. We are all extremely happy for you both.

Well, that's all for now. I am hoping to keep up with this again.
