Taco Bell

Okay, so I went to Taco Bell today with a friend at work for lunch and they totally ruined my meal. I got one of those Crunch Wrap things that I have liked ever since they have come out. They overcooked my wrap and the lettuce was gross! I feel bad recommending it to Aimee!! (Aimee's a friend from work.) I sent in a complaint like Shawn is always telling me to do when I am disatisfied with something, but good grief!!! Can't anyone be proud of their work anymore! I mean, working food service isn't the most enjoyable job in the world, but show some respect!

U.S. is Golden!!!

You know, watching the Olympics is alot of fun. Shawn & I have really been enjoying it. The gymnastics competition has been great, with both U.S. Teams winning Team Silvers and the two Individual All-Around Golds! I also like watching the swimming. Michael Phelps is amazing!

We had a birthday party for my Grandmother this Saturday. She is 80 and doing fantastic! Everyone got her presents even though she said not to. You can't help getting something when a person turns 80. We had a wonderful time. A bunch of us played poker (with fake money) and Christina and I stomped everyone! I love beating Shawn at games. He thinks I am a little spiteful about beating him, but I can't help it. Sometimes I think it's a hold over from when we 'dated' in college. He broke my heart, so I rooted against him. I love him dearly now, but I still like beating him, whether it's me or someone else. I hope he understands.

My cousin Frank and his wife Andrea are having a girl!!! Mom is so glad because she's been knitting baby blankets for all the babies that are coming this year (there are four) and wasn't sure if anyone was going to have a girl. The blanket is lovely and everyone is very happy for the expecting parents. We asked Frank and Andrea if they had decided on a name (nothing is final), we told them what we had picked for our own and Carol thought I was pregnant. I AM NOT!!! Shawn and I have just discussed it. It's good to talk about this before you get pregnant. It makes it easier when the time actually arrives.

... And the Women Too

Well, the US Women's Gymnastic Team won the Silver too. They could have won the gold if thay had wanted it more, but The Romanians were fantastic. I have so much fun watching them perform. The only thing that was a little weird was that Russian girl that's been to 3 Olympics! She looks like a stork, all legs. That vault she did was a little erratic...UNDERSTATEMENT!!!

Do you ever wonder how you always have more laundry than can possibly be real? Shawn and I always have so much laundry and there is only the two of us. I can't imagine how a mother of two even has time to get it all done.

Well, I am going to work on THE BOOK tonight. I have finished the ceremony and am going onto the formal portriats in the church and at the park. Then the reception, then I'm DONE!!! I am looking forward to doing something else. Christmas, Neil Armstrong Museum (I found the coolest NASA stickers at this place called Cord Camera in North Olmsted. Fantastic store!), Toledo Zoo, Barnstable, etc...

Fun, Fun, Fun.

US Men Win Silver!!!

US Men's Gymnastics Team Wins Silver Medal!!! Let me tell you it is very exciting to watch these athletes get the job done. I have never seen anything so exciting. The only problem is that I am not going to get to bed before 11:30 PM until the Olympics are over. I am going to need another vacation!

I love the musical, "Wicked". Christina made a copy of the CD for me and I liked it so much I bought my own copy and passed the other on to Mom. I can't stop listening to it! I can't wait until it starts touring. I have to see it. Shawn has already informed me that he will not go with me. He hates the "Wizard of Oz" with a passion and refuses to see anything related to it. That's fine with me because then I can see it with Christina. Also, if it's in the State Theatre, he wouldn't go anyway. The last show we saw there was VERY uncomfortable. The rows of seat are too close together making anyone over 5'2" want to cut off their legs from the pain!

Weekend

Well, the Olympics have started and I no longer have control of the TV. Shawn is going to try to watch every event he possibly can, which means if I want to see anything else, I will be watching it in the bedroom. Oh, well. I knew he was a sports freak when I married him.

The weekend was fine. Shawn & I were invited to a party at Geoff's house this past Saturday. He is two levels above Shawn in the food chain at work. It was a good party. I didn't have as much fun as Shawn because it's hard to party with people you don't know very well. I am hoping that I will get better at these work parties. I hate feeling lonely with a big group of people.

Well, I didn't get very much done on the wedding album this weekend. It's amazing how much time you can waste when you're not motivated. I have to get this album done by Shawn's and my anniversary or Shawn will not forgive me for spending so much money on the equipment. I think I can pull it off. I just have to be patient andd put together 3 pages a night until it's done. Right!
Then I have to start the Christmas album and our 2004 Mills album.....

Gotta go! TTFN.

Dinner with Mom...

Mom and I had dinner last night. Dad's on his annual Golf Toot, so I invited Mom out to dinner. We had a good time. Athena's is an extremely good restaurant but don't have the Fettucine Alfredo. It is very bland.

We talked about alot, but the thing that really sticks out is the discussion we had about our friend Erica. She just got engaged. We don't know the fiance very well because he lives in Pittsburgh, but he has been trying to drive a wedge between Erica and her friends here. He's actually managed to convince her to move back to Pittsburgh. I just hope that the girls can maintain their friendship. I know what it's like when supposed friends decide that you are no longer important to them. It's very hurtful. I also hope that the fiance doesn't make Erica choose between him and her friends any further. He's getting her to move back to PA so I hope that's enough.

I don't know how this is going to turn out but I have my fingers crossed.

New Blog!

Well, I decided to give this Blog stuff a try. I have been enjoying my friend Meghan's site ever since she started it and thought it might be fun to create one of my own. So, here goes...

I have been married now for a little over 10 months and let me tell you. It is an adventure. Shawn and I are pretty used to each other by now, but it's still weird sometimes. For example, it is hard for me to remember to call when I am going to be late. I am so used to doing my own thing and not having to worry about someone else worrying that I can forget to call. Shawn forgives me most of the time, but I know it gets on his nerves. Of course, he knew when he married me that my phone etiquette was not exactly stellar. Anyway, it is nice to have someone to talk to all the time and someone to share the responsiblities of life. I love my husband very much and am glad that I finally realized that a good friend makes a great mate. Even if he does leave a very cold, wet, slimy sponge in the sink after he cleans a dish.

Well, that's all for now.
